The TECO electric meter that controls our lift station failed today with a small fire.
The damage was contained to the meter and the ZapCap that protects the lift station equipment from catastrophic damage.
We contacted an electrician and our lift station maintenance vendor to assess the damage and formulate a plan to make sure the station continues to operate and to restore it to full operation.
As of tonight we have a generator on site to power the pumps and maintain proper levels. The electrician will be back in the morning to rebuild the damaged sections and TECO will be here to provide access to the transformer.
Once the work is done it needs to be inspected by Hillsborough County and then we’ll be back to normal operation. We’ve been told that the inspection may not happen until Tuesday.
We’ll send another update as soon as we have more information.
