| Hurricane season has started. Now is the time to prepare. Our community is in Evacuation Zone C and Flood Zone X. Here are some things to consider: • Check your insurance policy to make sure your unit has HO3 coverage. • Line up a vendor to put up hurricane shutters before the storm hits. Shutters must be removed within 2 weeks after the end of the hurricane watch or warning. • Have an evacuation plan. • Sign up for weather and local municipal alerts. • Take photos/videos of your property prior to the storm. • Secure your property deed, insurance policies, and financial information in a watertight bag. Make sure you have an adequate supply of medications. • Gas up your vehicles / Get cash • Stock up on supplies: water, batteries, flashlights, non-perishable foods, radio, etc., some of which will be tax-free year-round beginning August 1. • Secure all outdoor items For more information, visit the Hillsborough County Guide: https://hcfl.gov/newsroom/2025/05/05/now-is-the-time-to-prepare-for-hurricane-season ~Townhomes of West Lake Community Spirit Committee |
