There is a tropical storm developing in the Caribbean that could develop into a hurricane and could come near the Florida Peninsula based on the latest information from The Weather Channel.  There’s no telling where it might hit land until the system gets more developed.  Please refer to the community website www.townhomesofwestlake.com.  There is a section labeled Emergency/Hurricane which contains a lot of good information to prepare in case there is a threat to Tampa.  There is a County Hurricane Preparedness Guide and a Hurricane Tip Sheet developed by the Board.

Residents are allowed to install hurricane panels only when there is a Hurricane Watch issued for Hillsborough County and must be removed no later than two weeks after the Watch/Warning is lifted.  In 2017, several residents contracted the services of handymen to install and remove those panels.  That is the responsibility of residents.  The HOA does not contract nor pay for this service.  It’s important that furniture, grills, pots and other items on the patio and porch are moved indoors if a Watch/Warning is issued.
