Official Notice from the Board of Directors

Please be aware that Hurricane Dorian may affect our area. The following are things that all West Lake homeowners need to know and should do before the storm.

1.  Please bring all items from your patio or screened lanai, front entrance area and lawn into the home or garage, as they can become projectiles.

2.  Please review the instructions for the installation of the hurricane protection for your home.  The Association is not responsible for the installation. Hurricane shutters can be installed 48 hours prior to the expected arrival of a hurricane and must be removed within 2 weeks after the storm has passed.

3.  A Hurricane Tip Sheet with a suggested Safety Kit, a link to the Hillsborough County Emergency Management website, links to Flood Maps and Evacuation zones and other items to prepare for a hurricane or other emergency can be found in the Emergency/Hurricane section of our website at https://townhomesofwestlake.com/community-resources-3-2/

4.  The Board will continue to monitor the storm path and will need to move and secure the pool furniture and close the pool at some point in preparation for the storm.

5.  The fountains will be turned off during the storm.

6.  If the power goes off, the pumps at the sewage lift station will not work, and there is a limited amount of time before the holding tank gets full. If the power is off, please do not flush toilets, do laundry or perform other actions that would create much water flowing down the drains as the sewage could back up into homes and streets.  After the storm we will work to get the lift station operational as soon as possible, pending restoration of power to the community.

7.  Please make sure your vehicles are full of gas and that you have supplies for your family.
